Metabo “SBE 610” and “SBE 610 Impuls”: Two new Metabo high-speed impact drillsFast and nimble in any situation“Economic miracle” impact drill / “SBE 610” and “SBE 610 Impuls” Impulse feature for precise drilling on smooth surfaces Nürtingen, August 2007. Professionals working in the building trade always want “economic miracles“. In other words, tools for drilling and screw-driving in different materials with a fast and precise penetration rate. According to the manufacturer, Metabo has exactly this with two new impact drills. The “SBE 610” and “SBE 610 Impuls” models can drill with high-precision and are extremely fast and nimble regardless of the material, be it concrete, masonry, bricks, tiles, plasterboard, wood or steel. According to the manufacturer, the key factor in achieving the drilling performance no other machine has managed to do in the 600 Watt class, is the technical combination of a high impact rate and single-blow energy. A comparison of drilling performances in concrete show this clearly: The SBE 610 (Impuls) achieves an over 30 % higher drilling capacity than the best competitor at a drilling diameter of 6 mm. The SLG Prüf- und Zertifizierungs GmbH, who were appointed for the test, determined a plus of more than almost 20 % for a 10 mm drilling diameter. Metabo offers further unique features in the market segment with an extremely robust, heat dissipating, aluminium die cast gear housing and an innovative air flow system. With this, the air is discharged downwards and towards the front so that the user avoids getting dust in his/her eyes when working at face level. The machine’s sophisticated balance control and its low weight of 1.7 kg contribute to comfortable and fatigue-free operation. Effective impulse The “SBE 610 Impuls“ is also equipped with Metabo impulse technology. An additional switch which is easy to access enables accurate drilling on smooth surfaces and the efficient removal of damaged or stuck screws. According to the manufacturer, another benefit is the newly designed handle. Its two-part rubber-coated handle and its ergonomic proportions ensure a secure grip and also prevents the quick formation of pressure points or blisters. The professional version with an impulse feature and the “SBE 610” basic model are ideal for drilling diameters of up to 12 mm in concrete, 10 mm in steel and 20 mm in softwood. Their rated output of 610 Watt is converted to a power output of 360 Watt. The rotary speed is 3,100 rpm in idle operation. Maximum impact is 62,000 rpm, the torque with 5Nm which is adjustable clockwise or anticlockwise from any handle position making it a very user-friendly model. Metabo refers to the construction and trade industries in general as well as gas, water and heating fitters, electricians, fitters, joiners or assembly workers in particular as target groups for this type of application. Practical: both machines can be hung up safely with a scaffolding hook when having a break at a height. A quick-action keyless chuck, an additional handle, drilling depth guide and a plastic case are all supplied. Accessories for the impact drills, which are available from summer 2007, include high-quality drill bits for concrete, metal and universal use as well as screwdrivers. Downloads:
