March 2008. The NEW CS 23 – 355 is a powerful 2,300 Watt Metal cutting chop saw. Designed for use with abrasive wheels this machine will produce precise cuts in steel, non-ferrous metals, iron and cast profiles. Coupled with high performance statistics this machine has been designed with ease of use and transportation in mind. At 16.9 kilogram in weight, a compact structure, an integrated carrying handle and transport lock provide easy transport even onto bench top working hight. The new model has a powerful, ball-bearing motor with 2,300 watts of rated input power for quick, effective processing of steel, high-grade steel, cast iron, aluminium, copper and other nonferrous metals. A professional device with a 355 mm disc diameter, it effortlessly separates square sections, pipes, angle sections and C-profiles as well as solid materials. It has a quick clamping device with mitre cuts possible up to 45o and -15o. The combo-spanner included with delivery provides stepless mitre switching, according to the power tool specialist. The new D-form grip was designed primarily for ease of operation and secure, ergonomic handling: The D-handle makes guiding of the mitre arm very comfortable. The switch integrated into the handle also features a trip switch. Other safety features included in this single-phase alternating current unit are the adjustable spark deflector, and bottom-side access protection to prevent reaching into the cutting disc during operation. According to the manufacturer, this model already meets future standards requirements. The 468 mm x 282 mm steel plate table is designed with additional cross braces for an especially stabile design. A secure cutting guide, lasting the entire service life of the metal chop saw, additionally guarantees the robust housing as well as the workpiece clamp. Included with delivery of the "CS 23-355", which is available at specialised dealers and replaces the Model "CS 14-15", are a clamping screw and fixing flange for attaching the cutting disc as well as a combination spanner. 350 mm diameter high quality cutting discs from Metabo Accessories guarantee, according to the Nürtingen manufacturer, precise cuts with dimensions ranging from 65 mm on steel bars to 125 mm on pipes and 115 mm x 130 mm on steel sections.
