Powerful lightweight for steel and metal construction workersNürtingen, June 2011: In Autumn, Metabo will be introducing the WX 16-150 and the WX 16-180 onto the market, a duo of compact angle grinders with 1,600 Watts of power. Only Metabo can provide so much power in such a compact format. Whether you are installing turbines, carrying out production processes or building bridges, the low weights of these two angle grinders mean that even vertical and overhead work is easy. The WX 16-150 angle grinder for grinding discs with a diameter of 150 mm produces 5 Nm of torque at a weight of just 3.8 kg. With so much power, the user can also easily make use of flap discs. The WX 16-180, with a torque of 6 Nm and a disc diameter of 180mm makes this tool ideal for medium removal work, for example, sanding welds. At 3.9 kg in weight this is much lighter than the large tools often employed for this kind of work. Convenience and safety The main handle on both tools can be rotated to achieve the most comfortable working position whilst the second side handle cushions vibrations when working. This enables the operator to work for longer without discomfort. The protective wheel guard can also be adjusted without tools. A soft-start function ensures a gentle start up and these machines also have restart protection, preventing the tool from starting up automatically after the power is interrupted. Even maintenance is easy with the shut-off carbon brushes of the Marathon motor located immediately behind an access panel in the housing making a quick and easy carbon brush change practical.
